WELCOME TO MEXICO

_DSC1060.JPG

Curating educational travel experiences is our passion.  Our goal is to introduce adventurous souls to some of the lesser known jewels of Mexico, combined with her iconic treasures and vibrant celebrations.  Our itineraries are mapped to mitigate the harms of over-tourism, while introducing guests to artists, regional cuisine, historical sites, incredible archaeology, indigenous narratives, birds, butterflies and more.

We look forward to hosting you!

WHY TRAVEL WITH OUR COMPANY?

Thoughtful travel and overtourism are new catch-phrases in our industry and something we have always strived to avoid.  We work with licensed national guides from Mexico, alongside local and international field experts who offer educational insights for many of our excursions.  We will introduce you to artists so you can shop directly or participate in an art workshop, with some who will also cook you a traditional meal from their region. We strive to offer small group travel experiences that bring you to famous landmarks and unknown treasures in a way that brings economy to the regions we visit through local restaurants and boutique hotels, rather than large group tours that require buffet restaurants and corporate lodgings.  Travel in an intimate group is more costly, but more likely to bring like-minded people together, who are conscious of the impacts of mismanaged tourism.  It also means our local experiences give you the opportunity to engage with the locals in a meaningful way, while making new friends throughout your travels.

We look forward to hosting you!

RESPONSIBLE SHOESTRING TRAVEL

Travelling on a shoestring is a popular approach for budget-limited adventurers, but it is a key-contributor to overtourism because the very concept encourages low spending in the regions being explored.  This means you are extracting resources, such as electricity and water, leaving rubbish in the landfill by way of sewage and garbage, but leaving nothing behind that provides an economy for the tax-paying locals.  If you are seeking a shoestring trip, but still want to funnel your dollars towards the locals, we can assist you with a self-guided trip for a small consultation fee.  We will compile your interests into a meaningful itinerary that puts you in touch with local experiences, budget (but local) lodgings, and more.

Lowering our carbon footprint is no less important than giving back to our hosts.

CHOOSE A REGION OR A REASON

Whether you're looking for a cultural travel experience or one that will connect you with nature, archaeology or history, we have you covered.  We offer amazing tours during Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead) and Semana Santa (Easter), and can help you plan an unforgettable Christmas holiday for your family.  We offer tours in the Copper Canyon, to the UNESCO protected Monarch Butterfly Biosphere, and love birding at remote archaeological sites in Yucatan, Campeche and Chiapas.  Our art collection tours are a special passion for us, as indigenous art is why we ended up here in 2015.  We especially love crafting itineraries that allow guests to enjoy an inland adventure with time to rest by the seaside before returning back to your busy lives.  We look forward to understanding your bucket list, so we can steer you towards themes you are passionate about.  That said, please visit our Tour Categories page to explore what tours are already scheduled, or contact us for a privately curated experience.

Your next adventure is just an email away!
