We are busy making plans for our 5th Annual Fiesta de las Catrinas!  Please contact us if you have any questions.  We have changed our venue, and are working to lower the price.  Email us to be added to our mailing list if you would like to attend.

Ticket price will include meal.  We will have face-painters there for those of you who would like to be transformed into the dead.  We can also book you an appointment, if you prefer to arrive already in costume.

Getting Here

By Plane
 
Morelia has the closest airport to Patzcuaro, but guests also fly into CDMX, Leon and Guadalajara, then commute by bus or private driver to our area.

By Bus

Buses to Morelia arrive from all major cities in central Mexico.  If you bus to Patzcuaro from other parts of Mexico, you will likely need to stop in Morelia for a connecting line.  There are a few direct buses here, but the times are limited.  Please contact us for more information.

Costume Ideas

Weather

We will have outdoor heaters in the tents, but suggest wearing warm clothes with layers, such as a rebozo or overcoat.  We will be at the end of rainy season, so you may also want to tuck an umbrella into your bag.



Face Paint

We will have several make-up artists at the event, so you do not have to paint your own face.  If you are coming with a group, and would like an afternoon appointment, please let us know and we can make arrangements for an artist or two, to come to your home.  Face painting is not included in the price.



Costume

Catrinas come in all shapes and sizes, and various professions.  The more creative you are, the more fun everyone will have.  For the classic Catrina, a ball gown or tux is certainly suitable, but guests are not limited to extravagant clothing.  Dress as Frida & Diego, a nurse, doctor, nun, La Llorona, Medusa, a Devil & Devil Bride - the possibilities are endless.  Just check the gallery below for some ideas that have been created in Capula!




Corona`s and Hats

Martha Zertuche has been making extravagant coronas and hats for Catrina costumes, and they are absolutely perfect for this occasion.  Martha will be at our party selling her beautiful creations, but to ensure she has enough, please contact us if you would like to order one!
